Registration is Open for our 25th Annual Kata Tournament

After two years’ “pandemic hiatus” from our annual kata competition (and one year of online competition by video in 2020), we’re back!

Rohai Dojo’s 25th Annual Kata Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, March 18, 2023, starting at 10am (doors open at 9). There will be divisions by age and rank – with several different divisions for Adults, Teens, and Children. Trophies will be awarded to the top three winners in each division.

As always, this event will provide multiple opportunities for participants to step up, take the challenge, and show their best. There are separate divisions for traditional empty hand kata; weapons kata; open kata*, team kata**, and family team (parent/child) kata; and – new this year – Tiger Team Parent/Child Kata for our students under age 6 and a parent, performing together! Tiger Team parents: Click here to download a copy of Bac Dau kata to practice with your child. Bac Dau kata is a beginning-level kata comprising the basics of Cuong Nhu Karate in a fun, simple format.

*Open kata is for creative kata presentation, including kata to music, or an original kata of your own creation.

**Team kata is 2 or 3 participants performing kata together or with applications.

Online registration is live! If you’re eligible for multiple events – enter as many as you wish! Be sure to register before March 10th to avoid the late registration fee.
